Frequently asked questions.
Answered by a Sarasota home builder who works for you.
If your question is not answered here, call the studio. We would rather talk it through than have you guess.
Read about our processAre you licensed?
Yes. Voigt Brothers Construction is a Florida certified general contractor, license CGC 1523817.
Has your work been recognized?
Yes. Our homes have earned recognition for more than two decades, including SRQ Magazine's Home of the Year, the Grand Aurora Awards and a PCBC Gold Nugget. The recognition we value most still comes from homeowners and their neighbors.
Do you take on anything other than ground-up custom homes?
Rarely. Ground-up custom homes across Sarasota and Manatee Counties are what we are set up to do, and we do not take on home repairs or small remodels. We have occasionally built commercial projects, including custom horse barns and high-end storage facilities.
How long does a home take?
Construction itself usually takes 12-24 months. From the start of construction through final handover, the project typically runs about 18-32 months. Site conditions, coastal review and the complexity of the home can affect that range.
What can you expect from working with Voigt Brothers?
A partner rather than just a contractor. You get one project manager and one superintendent for the whole build, a line-item budget you approve before ground breaks, change orders priced in writing before they are ordered, and regular site updates throughout.
Is there a style you build best?
We build across 5 styles: modern, coastal, transitional, West Indies and Mediterranean. Modern and coastal are the largest part of the portfolio and the work our award citations most often name.
